I don’t have much money so I can’t just go buying a new Sprinter in the colour of my choice and being all happy about it afterwards… therefore I have to find a second hand van that is both a good deal and in the right colour. I need it to be BLACK so I can put tinted windows on the side and still have a semi stealth camper as well as solar panels on the roof without it being obvious to anyone looking out of their bedroom window… and I need it to be a SPRINTER because they are the best vans. The problem is I’m low on cash, most Sprinter’s are white and most on eBay and other sites are either in terrible condition, not good deals or both of those things. But it does happen that something good comes up… once in a blue moon something great appears on the ebay listings….but it’s NEVER a black one 🙁
It’s heart-wrenching when you get your chance and blow it. It’s like having that dream girl from school finally tell you she’s up for catching a drink with just her but you get distracted by some hooker, while she gets picked up by a player.
I waited too long, I got distracted by another van without realising it wasn’t such a great deal, and MY van was bought by a trader on day 2 after it came up on eBay… it’s the WORST feeling! I’ve NEVER seen a deal like that come up before that was THAT good AND in black.
- it was BLACK
- it was 2009 so not THAT old and with a Euro 5 emissions engine so wouldn’t be facing an imminent ban from driving within London.
- it had full MERCEDES service history
- it was at a great price – only £5500
- 150,000 miles which is totally reasonable
- clearly in excellent condition
- but it’s GONE! Gone, gone, gone!
Since a trader bought it I guess it’ll reappear on the market for twice the price… 🙁
